It can quickly become expensive when a red light suddenly lights up on the dashboard of your Skoda. Or when you hear a jarring sound from the car. First, there is the shock of the unexpected red glow behind the steering wheel. Then comes the thought of how expensive this may be to repair. Car parts are not cheap.
However, it doesn’t have to be as expensive as expected, since second-hand parts are significantly cheaper than brand new parts. When the parts are reused, the only cost is the time it takes to dismantle and prepare them so that they can be reused. The price reflects this.
What is a second-hand part?
A second-hand part is one that has been part of another Skoda in its lifetime. Although the car is finished with and has ended up at a car breaker, it may contain many good parts that can still be used.
If, for example, a car is totalled in a frontal collision, there may be parts in the rear that are not damaged. These will be dismantled and checked for faults. If there is nothing wrong with the parts, they can be reused and sold as second-hand.
This type of auto recycling has been widespread for many years. However, many people still choose to buy brand new parts to get guaranteed durability. However, the warranty on new parts is no better than on our second-hand parts because we give a full warranty on all auto parts!
Find all auto parts for your Skoda in one place
As previously mentioned, the idea of recycling is not new. Previously, you could visit your local car breaker to see if you were in luck and they had the part you were looking for on a Skoda with the same model and year. If they did not, you had to move on to the next place.
With us, you can stop spending time looking for more places. We have collected the warehouses for a number of Danish and foreign car breakers in one database. You can therefore search through more than 3 million second-hand parts. This means that you can always find exactly the part you require.
Among other things, you will find a large selection of cheap parts within these categories:
Thanks to our search function, it is nothing like searching for a needle in a haystack. All you need to do is enter your number plate or indicate the make, model and year, and specify the part you need. Then you get a list of the auto parts that fit your car exactly.
Over 100 years with Skoda
The history behind the popular make of car stretches more than 100 years back. In 1895, two young men – Václav Laurin and Václav Klement – started the factory Laurin & Klement Co. In the beginning, they manufactured bicycles and, later on, motorcycles. Shortly after the millennium, however, they started producing cars. They had great success with the first car makes from the factory, Voiturette A and Faeton.
The success led to Laurin & Klement merging with the large Czech industrial company ŠKODA Pilsen in 1925. After this, the success continued; however, manufacturing was greatly reduced during World War II to provide more space for the production of war material. The planned economy and centralisation of the post-war era in communist Eastern Europe led to development stopping in all markets other than the domestic market.
After many years of slow growth, Skoda was included in the VW Group in the 1990s. This change was critical. With new models, such as Felicia, and with a general increase in quality, Skoda showed that they could handle the global competition.
Reliable family cars with plenty of space
Skoda models have a reputation for being reliable and having plenty of space. That is why it comes as no surprise that Skoda has become one of the preferred family cars in Denmark.
The Fabia and Octavia models – which have been crowned as car of the year in Denmark – are particularly popular among families with young children. They belong to the large end of the mini class and the small end of the medium class; however, they are more spacious and cheaper than many of their competitors.
The small Skoda Roomster is a family-friendly MPV. With its practical design and its perky driving qualities, it is aimed at the petrolhead family dad. Yeti is even more practical and the manufacturer’s version of an SUV for offroading.
Since 2001, Skoda has also been producing the model Superb. It is the manufacturer’s only car in the upper medium class. Although it has won several awards for durability and design globally, Superb has not become hugely popular in the Danish market.
However, the microcar Citigo that was added in 2011 has. With its roominess and list of stylish accessories, it has been a real success with the Danes. It is aimed at single people who need a small car, as well as families who need an extra car.
To a great extent, all Skoda models build on auto parts from VW and Audi that belong to the same group. That is why they are extremely reliable cars that fit the Danish climate, but at a lower price. This has made Skoda extra popular.
Second-hand auto parts protect the environment
You can help improve the environment by choosing second-hand auto parts for your Skoda. The production of new auto parts emits CO2 as well as dangerous chemicals. Therefore, by recycling, you help to reduce the emission of CO2 and chemicals because the dismantling of second-hand parts emits significantly less CO2, and no chemicals are used in the process.
Auto recycling also reduces the strain on the natural areas where the raw materials for production are mined. This means that the resources stretch further and fewer areas are needed for mining in the future.
