What are second-hand parts?
Second-hand parts are parts that come from a car breaker. They have been dismantled from cars that have been scrapped. Although the car has been scrapped, many auto parts may well be usable.
Old cars may have had new parts installed towards the end of their service life. When cars are totalled in accidents, it may be possible to take parts from the part of the car that is undamaged. All usable parts from this sort of car are dismantled, checked and inspected, and some parts are refurbished, before they are forwarded for reuse.
